Strategic Squarespace Website Design
Your website is the foundational hub of your business. Think of it like a hotel (bear with me!).
Your hotel has windows and doors, front and back garden paths; lots of different ways to get in.
People stop by and stroll around, admiring your well-designed rooms. They get a really good feel for who you are and what you’re about. They stay and have a cuppa and even a piece of cake. (Chocolate, obvs.) You chat for a while, and they soon get to know you and your values. They love it so much they ask if you’ve got rooms available - result!
BUT, when you’re walking down the street, you wave and say “Hey” to random people who may or may not be interested in your hotel. A few come over and chat, then off they go on their merry way. You might not ever see them again. What a shame - they’re going to forget all about your hotel and you’ve got no way to contact them! (Mobile phones don’t exist in this scenario; this is my metaphor, don’t ruin it.)
Your hotel is like your website, people find it through your social media, Google, word of mouth, adverts, referrals – there are lots of ways in. Inside your hotel, it tells a clear story - everything people need to know about you.
And it’s not messy – it’s tidy, warm and welcoming, there is a clear route around the hotel, a bit like a stately home, taking them on a journey, room to room. You blow them away with your hospitality.
Your walk in your neighbourhood on the other hand, is like being on social media. You can work up some great relationships and have super enriching conversations with people, but they will soon forget about your hotel - they’re far more likely to book a stay if you can show them inside.
Do you want them to rock up at a stately home? Or a shed, with a hole in the roof letting water in and ivy growing up around the door frame?
Before I get too carried away with my super clever analogy, I think you get the idea.
Like it or not, people will always want to see your website because it’s a reflection of you.
Let’s make it a stately home you’re proud to share, that highlights your expertise, sells your services and grows your email list, so you can keep having those garden parties you love so much!

Website Design
The Process
Onboarding
Once you’re booked in, you’ll review our content questionnaire and guidance, and we’ll help you to select style references on Pinterest, providing us with valuable insights into your brand, business goals and style.
Moodboards & Concepts
We’ll send over a moodboard and several design concepts that show the first few sections of your future homepage until we find the one you love. If you don’t have branding colours, typography or a typography logo we’ll create those too. We’ll also introduce wireframes to pinpoint where your content will go.
Mockups
Once we’ve agreed on the concept and placements, we’ll mock up your website pages with your content and imagery. Free curated imagery included.
Website Design
We’ll continue to make revisions until you’re 100% happy with the final designs. Then comes the fun part - we move it all over to Squarespace!

Website Design - FAQs
-
We’ll create anywhere between 5-8 concepts to give you a good range to choose from. From those concepts we can do two rounds of refinements to get to where you want to be. Don’t worry - you will finish with a website you love!
-
We would recommend putting aside time on the most important days (these will be listed in your project timelines) such as the concept day and the homepage design day. Keep those weeks where we’re working back and forth fairly flexible and free so the project can run smoothly.
You will need to set aside some time for the onboarding as we need your completed information before the project starts; otherwise, we can’t proceed. We’ve tried to make it as intuitive and easy as possible to complete the questionnaires, and find that clients really enjoy the image curation part in Pinterest!
-
All of your onboarding materials will be in a Google Drive, with video guides to help you complete the questionnaires and copywriting tasks. Communications about revisions and concepts will be done over email and through our Google documents, allowing us to keep it all in one place. If Google drive is new to you don’t worry it’s super easy to use - all you need is a Gmail account which is free.
-
You will need to account for some additional costs on top of our Website Design fees.
URL - If you don’t already have one, these cost around £20 a year depending on the address you choose. If you choose to pay for your Squarespace hosting annually (which we recommend below) you will get a new URL included for free.
Hosting in Squarespace. There are two yearly plans we’d recommend in Squarespace.
Core - which gives you lots of features and benefits and the ability to sell courses and memberships (with slightly higher transaction fees) or
Plus - for those that anticipate selling more, with a lower transaction fee.
As a client of ours, you’ll get an additional 10% off your first year. You can see the full pricing plans here: https://www.squarespace.com/pricing
Here’s a pricing breakdown as of September 2025
Core - Annual Plan including VAT - £244.80 Less 10% = £220.32
Plus - Annual Plan inclusing VAT - £417.60 Less 10% = £375.84
Your plan will renew at the full price after 12 months (or you can opt to pay monthly)
Email Setup - As a business, you’ll want/need a professional email address. You get your first year with Gmail included for free as part of your yearly plan with Squarespace. (After your year is up, plans start from as little as £7 a month.) Read more here: https://www.squarespace.com/professional-email
Email marketing - If you plan to send out marketing emails and newsletters to your audience, and you don’t already have marketing software elsewhere (for example, Mailerlite or Mailchimp) then Squarespace does have its own email plans. They start at £11 plus VAT to send 5000 emails a month.
-
Your project is booked in at an agreed time with you - because you need time to get your materials together before we start AND be available for feedback on concepts.
But - very occasionally life does happen. We get it.
If something changes and you can’t meet the project timeline, we can reschedule your project (it may delay it by another month or three depending on other booked projects). We’re strict with project timelines because we’ve dedicated time to you and usually have other projects lined up in advance.
